Elkie von Edinburg is a stunning 5 month old coated German Shepherd. She is just getting her adult coat and although we aren’t sure how long it will grow, she definitely will have a longer coat. She is an amazing puppy who is obviously from a show line of German Shepherds, judging from her conformation. We know of a breeder in the area where Elkie is from whose dogs look just like Elkie, the dogs are very expensive, in the 2 to 3 thousand dollar range, many are related to Grand Champions. Elkie is the fastest puppy we have ever seen, she has a gait that is so incredible, it is almost as if she is floating. She is great with her foster family and very loving. She loves the other dogs both male and female. Elkie is working with a trainer and learning her commands, she is very smart. She has a lot of energy and needs two long walks at least a mile twice a day for now and it will get more as she grows up. She is very alert intellectually and wants something to do. She likes her tug of war toys and her ball.  Elkie is working on her housebreaking and doing pretty well, but she has a ways to go. Other than shredding newspaper, she is good about just playing with her toys. Elkie needs someone who has plenty of time for her; she would be a star in any obedience class. Elkie is fine with kids also. We are asking a donation of $425 for our exceptional puppy!
